The University of Colorado’s College of Media, Communication and Information (CMCI) set a goal to develop a new student multimedia facility to offer students an academic experience that would prepare them for a competitive and evolving media landscape. An innovative student learning laboratory was planned on the second and third floors of the CASE (Center for Academic Success and Engagement) to enhance student learning and collaboration among students, faculty, and college leaders.

The remodeled space includes a large, open newsroom, media design lab, offices, conference rooms, podcast studio, computer lab, and open work stations.
