The removal and replacement of an 1,100-foot-long main boarding platform along with the installation of an under-drain system below the platform, renovating brick-paved areas to make them accessible, and installing new platform lighting and signage. The work provided amenities and improvements to bring this station into ADA compliance. The station remained in operation during construction. Stakeholders at this station included Amtrak, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe, the City of Dodge City, and a historical society.
