Project Overview

Longmont, CO

Garden Acres Community Park sits on a 38-acre site and features a sports complex. Originally built in the 1980s, the park did not comply with current ADA requirements, and its aging facilities were in need of upgrading and other extensive improvements. Although the park initially included playgrounds, these were removed due to safety concerns.

The Oligarchy Ditch Primary Greenway and Trail runs along the park to the north.

Upgrades to the park included a new irrigation pump station, building renovations, restroom building, playgrounds with playground equipment and safety surface, concrete replacement, fencing improvements, replacement of park furniture, trash enclosure, site trash and recycle bins, landscape and irrigation improvements, existing dugout renovations, storm drainage, and improved site lighting.

"I had the great pleasure of working with Krische Construction on Phase 2 of the Garden Acres Community Park Renewal. Their Project Manager and Site Superintendent were extremely responsive when construction-related issues affected the usability of open facilities, even when it may have been outside the scope of the project. Their professionalism, patience and expertise in developing high quality, cost effective solutions made the project stay on schedule and within budget even with continuous owner-created changes and delays. Renovation projects by nature are very complex and require adaption to unforeseen conditions. The Krische Construction team has a unique talent for these types of projects. It was refreshing to work with a contractor with such excellent communication and problem-solving skills. I highly recommend the Krische Construction team and look forward to working with this contractor again soon."
