The Longmont Housing Authority (LHA) provides housing and related services to low and moderate income families, elderly, and disabled households.
The Lodge at Hover Crossing is a 50-unit building that serves seniors with household incomes below 50% of the area median income. The one- bedroom units feature large windows, radiant heating, and full kitchens. These apartments are designated for seniors 62 and older as well as disabled adults 62 and older. At the time it was built, The Lodge was one of three low- income senior apartments operated by LHA. This project was a complete site development in an existing, highly-active community.
Krische Construction provided design-assist and construction. During constructibility review, Krische provided input on the type of outside of wall rigid insulation combined with stud cavity insulation, and reviewed building systems and provided critical path scheduling. During value engineering, Krische took the lead in bringing in a manufacturer’s rep to design a radiant floor hot water heat system utilizing a series of high-efficiency boilers to tailor energy consumption to varying demands for heat.
